Christmas is the time of year when we are mostly confined indoors, the weather is inclement and daylight hours are short. To counteract this, we love to cheer ourselves with lots of warmth and colour.
When you think about Christmas you think of sparkling decorations, warm fires and the smell of baking. We decorate our homes with baubles, streamers and banners to wish our visitors a Happy Christmas.
Children love to hang large stockings for Santa to leave his gifts, these can become part of a family tradition if they have their names embroidered on the chuffs that is passed down through generations.
Parents, especially mothers love to bake a special cake for the season and decorate it with coloured icing and ornaments depicting Christmas scenes. Many like to add a themed cake topper and some give these special creations as gifts to other family members. There are a whole range of cake decorations such as holly, ribbon and cake frills to give it a seasonal touch.
Candles are synonymous with the Xmas season and while they are warm and inviting they can be a fire hazard in little hands. You can find great battery operated tea-lights for the little people in your house so that they don’t feel left out of the celebrations. Fairy lights are every child’s and adults delight and a Christmas tree would appear naked without them.
Below are some great Christmas decoration ideas for the Christmas party season :
